Introduction

Your organisation is set up. This guide takes you from your first login to your first certified valuation, and covers everything you need in your first week.

Codeego tells you what a codebase is really worth: how good it is, what it would cost to rebuild, and what it will cost to keep running. As an Enterprise member, every assessment you run gets our highest grade of analysis, Expert, with no checkout, no per-assessment payment and no add-ons to remember.

How to use this guide

Follow the steps in order, or jump straight to what you need from the contents. Each step has a short video if you would rather watch.

Step 01

Sign in and check your organisation

Sign in with the email address your invitation was sent to. If you belong to more than one organisation, for example a personal workspace and your company’s, use the organisation switcher at the top of the app to choose your Enterprise organisation.

Tip

When you’re in the right workspace, the assessment form shows an Enterprise card marked “Included in your plan”. If you see prices and a checkout button instead, switch organisation.

Invite your team

Owners and Admins can add people from the Users page. Choose Invite User, enter one or more email addresses and pick a role for each person.

Members and Viewers see only the assessments their access scope allows.

You can also set each person’s access scope:

  • All Assessments

They can see everything the organisation runs.

  • Selected Only

They see only the assessments you grant them. Works well for external advisors or deal-specific teams.

Invitees receive an email and join once they accept. You can track pending invitations and revoke them from the same page.

Step 03

Run your first assessment

Click New Assessment and work through the form. Five short sections, and no payment step at the end.
  1. Name it

Give the assessment a clear title, such as “Project Atlas: target platform”. You can add notes to give the analysis extra context.

  2. Describe the team scenario

These three settings shape the investment and cost estimates, so choose the ones closest to reality.

    Work mode

    Team location

US / Northern EuropeWestern EuropeSouthern EuropeEastern EuropeLatin AmericaSouth/SE Asia

    AI adoption

    TraditionalAI-assisted (Copilot)AI-augmented (Agents)

Work mode sets the team structure and salary benchmarks, location applies regional cost adjustments, and AI adoption applies productivity multipliers.

    Tip

If you’re valuing an acquisition target, describe the team that would maintain the code after the deal, not the team that wrote it.

  3. Provide the code

    Connect a Git repository

From GitHub. Paste the repository URL and choose a branch.

    Upload a ZIP file

Password-protected ZIPs are supported, and the password is checked in your browser.

  4. Choose frameworks (optional)

    • Compliance readiness reports. Select one or more audit frameworks, such as SOC 2. When the analysis finishes, Codeego maps its findings to the framework’s controls and produces an auditor-ready readiness report.
    • Analysis frameworks. Emphasise a particular focus area in the scoring and the report. You can pick one framework per focus area.
  5. Create

Accept the Terms & Conditions and click Create Assessment. There’s no payment step: your plan already covers it.

Follow the progress

Your assessment moves through seven stages. You can close the page while it runs.
  1. 1

    Queued for processing

  2. 2

    Extracting code

  3. 3

    Analysing codebase

  4. 4

    Generating report

  5. 5

    Creating certificate

  6. 6

    Finalising compliance reportsOptional

  7. Completed

Most assessments finish in under 20 minutes. Larger codebases can take longer.

Read your results

When the assessment is complete, open it from your dashboard. This is what you’ll find inside.
  • Production Readiness Score

A single, calibrated measure of codebase quality, from 0 to 100.

  • Valuation breakdown

Development effort in hours, rebuild cost and maintenance cost, based on the team scenario you chose.

  • Codebase facts

Lines of code, files analysed, languages and complexity.

  • Team composition

The team size and profile needed to build and maintain the software.

  • Full narrative report

The reasoning behind the numbers, including strengths, risks and warnings.

  • Formula audit trail

Every factor that contributed to the valuation.

  • Compliance readiness reports

One for each framework you selected.

  • Audio summary

Choose Listen to summary for a spoken overview you can play on the go.

  • Evidence Certificate

Download it for your records or your data room.

Organise and share

Keep a growing library of assessments tidy, and put each one in front of the right people.
  • Folders

Group assessments by deal, client, portfolio company or quarter.

  • Search

Find any past assessment quickly from the dashboard.

  • Share

Give colleagues or external stakeholders access to a specific assessment by email, and revoke it at any time.

  • Request a review

If something in a result doesn't look right, use Request Review to ask our team for a second look, with any context that might help.

What’s included

Everything below comes as standard on every assessment your organisation runs. There is nothing to upgrade.

  • Expert-grade valuation

A fully deterministic, audit-grade analysis. Run the same code twice and you get the same answer.

  • Technical and economic valuation

A quality score, estimated development effort, rebuild cost and ongoing maintenance cost.

  • A factor-by-factor audit trail

See exactly how each figure was reached, so you can defend it to a board, an investor or an auditor.

  • Compliance readiness reports

Findings mapped to the controls of the frameworks you choose.

  • Analysis frameworks

Focus the scoring and the report on the areas that matter most to you.

  • Encrypted inference, on by default

End-to-end encrypted AI calls, on top of our EU-based, privacy-focused infrastructure.

  • Certified results

Every completed assessment is certified by a Trusted Third Party and held under Continuous IP Custody, which you can deselect on any assessment.

  • A shared organisation workspace

Multiple users, role-based access and centralised billing.

API access

Run assessments automatically, for example from a deal pipeline or CI. Create API keys in Settings, rotate or revoke them at any time, and let webhooks tell your systems when an assessment has finished.

Security, by default

  • Encrypted inference is always on for Enterprise, so nobody has to remember to enable it.
  • Analysis runs on EU-based, privacy-focused infrastructure.
  • Role-based access and Selected Only scopes mean people see only what they need to see.
  • Results are certified by a Trusted Third Party, which gives them independent, verifiable standing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay for each assessment?

No. Assessments run inside your Enterprise organisation are covered by your plan. You'll never see a checkout.

Why don't I see Starter or Pro options?

Enterprise members always get Expert, our most complete tier, so there's nothing to choose.

Will I get the same result if I run the same code twice?

Yes. Expert valuations are deterministic by design, which is what makes them suitable for audit and due diligence.

Can I assess private repositories?

Yes. Connect your Git provider or upload a ZIP, including a password-protected one.

Can someone outside my company see a report?

Yes, if you share that specific assessment with them, or invite them as a Viewer with Selected Only access.

Who do I contact for help?

Use the Support option in the app, or contact your account manager.
